Macaulay Culkin and Brenda Song have welcomed their first child together and have named him after his late sister who died after a a tragic car accident.  The 40-year-old former child star of Home Alone is "overjoyed" and has named his son Dakota.  Macaulay welcomed the baby with girlfriend Brenda last week.  According to Esquire, the baby boy was born in Los Angeles on April 5, at 1.10pm and weighed in at 6lbs 14ozs.  Dakota is reportedly a tribute to Macaulay's late sister, who sadly passed away from her injuries after she stepped in front of a moving vehicle outside a Los Angeles bar in 2008.  A spokeswoman said at the time that Macaulay has described sister Dakota's death as a "'terrible tragic accident'.

There was no criminal investigation after the accident as it was found the driver was not drunk or driving inappropriately and had tried to help Dakota at the scene.  Macaulay met Brenda on the set of Changeland in 2017. The couple kept their pregnancy a secret from the public and not announce they were expecting until they told the world that they were parents.  Speaking to Esquire, Macaulay had previously joked about becoming a dad but said at the time there were a number of factors to be considered.  He said: "We practice a lot. We're figuring it out, making the timing work. Because nothing turns you on more than when your lady comes into the room and says, 'Honey, I’m ovulating.'

Brenda told the magazine: "You can’t be around him and not be happy. People don’t realise how incredibly kind and loyal and sweet and smart he is."
