Two boys aged just 14 and 16 have been charged in connection with the rape of a woman in a Sheffield park.  The woman was reportedly attacked by four youths at High Hazels Park in Darnall at around 6pm on November 23.  South Yorkshire Police executed two warrants in Darnall yesterday and four children, aged 13, 14, 15, and 16, were arrested on suspicion of rape.  The 16-year-old boy has been charged with rape and the 14-year-old boy has been charged with attempted sexual assault.  Neither suspect can be named for legal reasons because of their age.  The other two boys arrested on suspicion of rape, aged 13 and 15, have been released on police bail.  A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said: 'Two teenagers, aged 14 and 16 have been charged in connection with the rape of a woman in Sheffield.  At around 6pm on 23 November, it was reported that a 21-year-old woman was raped by a group of four males in High Hazels Park.  Officers executed two warrants in the Darnall area of Sheffield yesterday and arrested four teenagers aged 13, 14, 15 and 16.  The 16-year-old boy has been charged with rape and the 14-year-old boy has been charged with attempted sexual assault.'

Shortly after the rape had been reported, police confirmed that they had stepped up patrols in the area to reassure residents.  Det Insp Ben Wood said: 'There will be heightened patrols in the area from uniform officers to provide reassurance.'
